Notes from the Mountain - Issue No. 9
Lately, it’s been a little quieter than usual around here.
Not because nothing is happening...quite the opposite, actually. Summer soap making season has been in full swing, with batches curing everywhere, new scents coming together, and projects stacked on top of projects.
But somewhere in the middle of all of that, I’ve also been trying a little harder to step away from the constant pace of everything and actually enjoy life while it’s happening.
I think the goats might be onto something.
Every time I see them in the mountains, they never seem to be in a hurry. They climb when they want to climb. Rest when they want to rest. Stop and stare at things for no apparent reason. Completely unbothered by schedules, notifications, or productivity. Honestly… probably healthier that way.
Summer has a way of moving fast if you let it. One minute it’s the beginning of the season and the next thing you know, you’re wondering where June went. And trust me, I’m still going to take photos, share soap, and spend more time online than I probably should sometimes. But I’ve also been reminding myself that not every good moment needs to be interrupted to capture it while it’s happening. Some memories are better when you’re fully there for them first.
That said… I have been busy making summer favorites behind the scenes, including the return of one that feels like summer every single year.

One in a Melon
Sweet, bright, and unmistakably summer. Juicy watermelon, lush honeydew, and ripe strawberry come together in a scent that feels cheerful, nostalgic, and just plain fun.
This seasonal favorite is back in:
• Soap
• Goat Milk Lotion
• Shampoo Bars
• Conditioner Bars
• Whipped Soap & Sugar Scrub
It's the kind of scent that feels like summer should.
I’m still making soap. Still planning projects. Still chasing mountain air whenever I can. Just trying a little harder not to rush through the good parts while I’m at it. I hope you find a little time to do the same this summer.
From the Trail:
A short reflection inspired by the outdoors.
“Not every moment needs to be captured to be worth remembering.”
More soon,
Dianne
